Dear Professor Krestas,
Thank you for guidance and support. After every end of a math course, I looked forward to being in your class again for the next course. You are one of the nicest teachers I've ever had and I learned much more than math from you. You were kind to us and patient. You were also tremendously supportive.
……
Professor Krestas, thanks to you, I was able to study math and stay interested in the subject. Along the way, I discovered how beautiful the subject (I had not appreciated it enough in the past) and I cannot stress it enough how necessary it to for everyone to know enough math.
Being a girl growing up in Pakistan, it is often taken lightly when a girl shows interest in Science or Math. Although my parents were very supportive and were adamant to put all of us (I have four siblings) through college and universities, as a girl, there was much less pressure on me to do well with the prospect of having a career someday.
…
I hope to meet you sometime. I might visit you at your office. I wish you could meet my husband too as you'd have a ton of things in common to talk about.
Professor Krestas, the honor was all ours.
I wish you the best health, and many more years of your time in the field of education. I also hope and pray I can make you proud someday - perhaps a breakthrough in Biochemistry :) (like some of your other students from the past). In my culture, we say, once a teacher, always your teacher. So you will always be my professor.
Thank you very much for everything,
Best wishes and kindest regards,
Sara Alladin
